Workforce Housing Specialist Certification

   Workforce Housing Specialist Certification

You may be an experienced real estate professional, but you may not be fully knowledgeable about the many programs and resources that exist to help individuals and families become home owners. MAR is offering REALTORS® the first program to become certified as a “Workforce Housing Specialist”. The program benefits you because the more you know, the better you can serve your clients and your community. PLUS, as a certified WHS, your contact information will be listed on the www.MTHousingResources.com website, targeted to Montanans!

This is an opportunity for you to add a new dimension to your career, serve your community and develop a new client base. Graduates of the course will have their contact information listed on the new Montana Housing Resources website.

As a certified WHS you will be required to re-certify every 2 years. Multiple courses are available during the year in several locations. Please check the MAR education calendar for details and dates.

www.MTHousingResources.com is a public service offered by MAR that provides a searchable web site of local, state, and federal housing assistance programs available to homebuyers in the state of Montana. The web site is one-of-a-kind in that it contains comprehensive program information all on a single, searchable web site – www.MTHousingResources.com.

When visiting the MT Housing Resources web site, members of the public can search for programs by entering their income, household size, and location. They can then select program categories to help them find assistance for low- and no-down payment mortgages, low interest rate plans, grants, forgivable loans, and others. Once they find the program that’s right for them, the web site also enables them to find a REALTOR® who has been certified as a Workforce Housing Specialist to advise and assist them with the programs available. For the benefit and protection of consumers, the programs listed on the web site are required by regulation to follow strict lending practices.

Not only is the web site program-driven, it also offers homebuyer education information, including information on the home buying process; consumer issues such as maintaining good credit and predatory lending; and homebuyer education courses available in local communities.
